Shadow Cabinet is the song this whole site is named after. How could I not include it !
Ten Thousand Miles was written and sung by Marty. He and Steve performed it acoustically during their two-man tours.

Frank (sorry, email address lost) has an interesting story about what a Shadow Cabinet might have been.
When I first met SK during the Heyday tour I asked him what "Shadow Cabinet" was about. Not knowing much about Australian politics it all went over my head.
SK seemed amused by my theory of the song's meaning. You see back in the early 1700s the Germans made a high quality white wine and people would store it away in dark, usually locked cabinets. These wines became known as "dark Kabinets". In researching the history of wine I have seen it refered to also as "shadow Kabinets". Now they are know just as Kabinets. Add to this the chorus, "must be thirsty/drink,drink, sink, forget/must be empty/inside the Shadow Cabinet" and you can see why I thought it had something to do with this wine.
