I gotta correct a point or two: the first sentence says the album is "from Kilbey and Willson-Piper"; Peter Koppes and Tim Powles are there on the whole album too.  And since Tranquility was the song played for the first dance at my wedding, I'll have to put in a vote for that one :)

A competent album from Kilbey and Willson-Piper, but it doesn't come close to the standard of "Sometime Anywhere". It's in their familiar atmospheric rock style with sneering vocals and shimmering guitar pings everywhere. But the song writing here has taken a dip in consistency. It starts off strongly enough, with the anthemic "Anaesthesia" and the hypnotic rants of "Ricochet". The stand-out track is probably the "The Great Machine", with a haunting chorus and a bleak and sweeping backing. On the second half their inspiration seems to fade. The seven minutes of "Tranquility" are far too slow and soporific, but maybe that was the point of the song.
