  • Once worked as a "computer programmer's assistant" and was asked to resign after writing a program that printed out poetry instead of agricultural data.
  • Birthday is September 13th, 1954
  • As a child Steve lived a Victorian country town called Shepparton, which provided the inspiration for the song Violet Town


  • His father is Dutch, his mother is German
  • Started musical life as a drummer
